Big Rapids Chess

Our goal is to promote chess in the Big Rapids area by creating a safe environment where members, regardless of experience or identity, can meet to learn about and play chess on a regular basis.

Welcome

This is currently an informal gathering of chess players and those who are interested in learning more about chess. Now that we are passed COVID, we will resume meeting once a week:

Beginning September 27, 2023, we will meet at Cranker's Brewery on Wednesdays from 7:00 to about 9:00 pm. Anyone interested in learning, studying, or playing chess is invited to attend both of these. You can learn more about our group on our About us page.

Six of us got together for our first club meet at the library. For the first session, I think that we had some pretty evenly matched games.

Welcome to the new Big Rapids Chess group. Next week, on October 17, 2019, we will hold our first public meeting in the Community room at the Big Rapids Community Library. Come join us and enjoy some time with a casual game of chess (or two). We will meet from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Hope to see you there.
